Our training is delivered by experienced trainers and data privacy/ information security professionals. Our training modules are built on the foundations of our extensive practical experience teaching and implementing compliance classes and related information security standards such as ISO 27001 and SOC 1,2 & 3.

Module 1: GDPR - Foundations & Framework

DAY ONE - A.M.

Key Topics:

  • An Overview of GDPR
  • The Key Roles & Responsibilities for GDPR Compliance Our first module is designed to give participants a high-level background and history of the GDPR so that they can evaluate their own organizations on what is needed to achieve compliance. We'll explore the new GDPR requirements and look at the key differences with current data projection as well as changes to the existing policies (Articles) most critical to the compliance with GDPR (and the reasons behind them). We will go into the details of the GDPR Articles that will require the largest level of effort from companies working to meet compliance. We also touch on the topic of consequences (and costs) of non-compliance. We will define the fundamental role of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) along with other key stakeholder roles which may be crucial to not only bringing your company to GDPR compliance but also crucial in monitoring and maintaining compliance.

Module 2: Mapping Data & Information Flow

DAY ONE - P.M.

  • How to Develop a data flow map One important aspect of GDPR compliance is understanding the information flow your company is responsible for. This comprehensive module will explore different examples of data flow maps and teach you how you can build your own, including understanding how to identify key elements of your data flow. We will demonstrate a walkthrough of an information lifecycle and identify unforeseen or unintended uses of data, as well as explore opportunities to minimize what data is collected. We will discuss (and demonstrate) a few tools used to map data flow as part of a hands-on, interactive session.

Module 3: The GDPR Roadmap to Compliance

DAY TWO - A.M.

  • Identifying key areas to safeguard
  • Building the practical GDPR Roadmap

In this module, we describe the most, common areas that companies will have to address/ enhance in order to get compliant (database security, PII/ PHI privacy, specific encryption or 2-factor authentication). This discussion may be more technical than others. In this module, you will learn how to build your own roadmap and/or a plan to get your company compliant with GDPR. We will show you how to break down the necessary tasks and activities that must be part of your roadmap. Following this plan/ map will ensure you have included the most critical compliance work, and help you stay away from paying high fees for non-compliance. This is a hands-on - interactive session.

Module 4: Partnering Up to Meet GDPR compliance

DAY 2 - P.M.

  • How to partner up (and with whom) to meet your compliance goals and deadlines
  • Wrap-up / Open discussion

Our final session will focus on options for partnering with the best consulting and solution providers, whether you are a small or a large company. Your road of compliance may only be successful by partnering up with an experienced solution provider or a team of experts whom you can trust, and whose expertise can ensure your success in meeting GDPR compliance. Before the close of our two-day workshop, we will recap what you have learned and hold an open forum to share your feedback, discuss your concerns, and answer any questions which on areas or topics that may not have been covered during the course of the workshop.
